  1. WHY IS AAI ASKING ITS CUSTOMERS AND PARTNERS WITHOUT AN EXECUTED DATA PROCESSING AGREEMENT (“DPA”) TO AGREE TO ONE NOW?
    1. Under GDPR regulations applicable to processing personal data of European Union citizens, AAI is considered a Data Processor when it provides Support. AAI is complying with its legal obligations to have a DPA govern its processing of its Customers’ Personal Data.

  2. WHY DOES AAI REQUIRE A DPA EVEN FOR CUSTOMERS AND PARTNERS NOT DOING BUSINESS IN THE EUROPEAN UNION?
    1. The DPA delineates and reflects the actual support process and the MANDATORY steps required of you (the Customer) when submitting a support ticket containing personal and/or sensitive data.
    2. Even though your company may not currently be covered by GDPR, there are other applicable regulations (e.g, California Consumer Privacy Act) which will require similar contractual obligations.

  3. WHAT SHOULD I DO AS A CUSTOMER OR PARTNER, IF I HAVE CONCERNS ABOUT AAI’S REQUEST TO AGREE TO AAI’S STANDARD DPA.
