FAQs
-
WHY IS AAI ASKING ITS CUSTOMERS AND PARTNERS WITHOUT AN EXECUTED DATA PROCESSING AGREEMENT (“DPA”) TO AGREE TO ONE NOW?
- Under GDPR regulations applicable to processing personal data of European Union citizens, AAI is considered a Data Processor when it provides Support. AAI is complying with its legal obligations to have a DPA govern its processing of its Customers’ Personal Data.
-
WHY DOES AAI REQUIRE A DPA EVEN FOR CUSTOMERS AND PARTNERS NOT DOING BUSINESS IN THE EUROPEAN UNION?
- The DPA delineates and reflects the actual support process and the MANDATORY steps required of you (the Customer) when submitting a support ticket containing personal and/or sensitive data.
- Even though your company may not currently be covered by GDPR, there are other applicable regulations (e.g, California Consumer Privacy Act) which will require similar contractual obligations.

WHAT SHOULD I DO AS A CUSTOMER OR PARTNER, IF I HAVE CONCERNS ABOUT AAI’S REQUEST TO AGREE TO AAI’S STANDARD DPA.
